How to measure

Measuring your blinds is now as simple as….. 1 2 3

The things you will need :
* Now before we start there is a couple of options you need to consider…..
Option 1 : faces mount
This is were the blind is fitted to the outside window frame or architrave.
The face mounted option is commonly used when a window has little or no internal space in the recess to install the blind. another reason for this type of installation is were maximum blockout , privacy and light control is required…

Option 2 : recess mount
This is were the blind is fitted to the inside internal recess of the window.
The recess mounted option is commonly used when a clean flush look is required ….although there is one thing to consider and that is the gaping on each side of the blind….the other requirement is the depth of the recess

60mm is comfortable to enable the blind to sit neatly within the recess….also be aware of handles, locks and other things that may cut down the clear space you have available to you inside the recess.

Another consideration is weather the blinds should be front rolled or normal rolled…..

Front Roll:
this style of blind is commonly used if your preference is to hide the roll at the top of the window.
The fabric comes off the front of the tube so the tube is hidden behind the fabric. In a RECESS application its also allows a little extra clearance for clearing window handles, locks etc. Also note when mounting a front rolled blind onto the face of the window it will create a much larger gap as the fabric will not be as close to the wall as when you order normal rolled style of blind.

Normal Roll:
This is the most popular style and the one most commonly used…
the fabric hangs off the back of the roller tube, it keeps the fabric as close to the window in recess mount and it also keeps the fabric as close as possible to the wall when FACE mounted. This also achieves the best heat and light control. One thing to watch out for is handles, locks, etc.. if your fabric comes off the back of the tube, the blind could be impeded by window handles, locks etc . Either mount your blind further forward or order a front rolled style of blind.

* Ok let’s start the measuring…and note always measure the width 1st then the drop 2nd and always use millimeters
Option 1 : face mounted
Width 1st : Hook your metal measuring tape on to the outside edge of the architrave as high as you can and pull firmly to archive an accurate measurement….note this measurement on to the order sheet.
Drop 2nd : hook your metal measuring tape on to the top of your architrave and pull firmly to archive an accurate measurement.

note this measurement and chain control side you prefer on to the order sheet.

Option 2 : face mounted
Width 1st : Hook your metal measuring tape on to the outside edge of the architrave as high as you can and pull firmly to archive an accurate measurement….note this measurement on to the order sheet.
Drop 2nd : hook your metal measuring tape on to the top of your architrave and pull firmly to archive an accurate measurement.
